De'Andre Hunter

De’Andre Hunter is an American professional basketball player who plays for the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers with the fourth overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, but his rights were subsequently traded to Atlanta.

Hunter attended Friends’ Central School in Philadelphia and played college basketball for Virginia Cavaliers men’s basketball team under head coach Tony Bennett. In his freshman season, he averaged 9.2 points and 3.5 rebounds per game while helping lead Virginia to a 2016–17 Atlantic Coast Conference championship and their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2011–12. As a sophomore, he improved his averages to 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists per game while leading Virginia to another ACC title as well as a berth in 2018 NCAA Championship Game where they fell short against Villanova Wildcats. During his junior year, he enjoyed further success with 15 points along with five rebounds and two assists per game which helped seal another ACC banner alongside an Elite Eight appearance in 2019 NCAA Tournament before entering into NBA draft that same year.

At 6 ft 7 inches tall with a wingspan of roughly 7 feet 3 inches Hunter is often seen playing at either small forward or power forward positions due to versatility on both ends of court coupled with ability to make shots from almost any spot on floor using mid-range jumpers or driving layups/dunks through traffic when needed most; a skill set which made him highly coveted prospect among many teams during draft process prior being acquired by Hawks organization shortly thereafter as part of sign-and-trade involving D’Angelo Russell going other way between Golden State Warriors & Brooklyn Nets back then .
