Trentyn Flowers's Biography
Trentyn Levi Flowers, commonly known as Trentyn Flowers, was born on March 8, 2005, in Maryland. Raised in Georgia, Trentyn is a professional basketball player known for his exceptional talent, remarkable ball-handling skills, and signature “big guard” playing style which earned him a strong reputation in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Today he plays with the eminent Los Angeles Clippers fostering a thriving two-way contract with the San Diego Clippers of the NBA G League.
As a young athlete, Trentyn initially launched his sports career at Jackson County Comprehensive High School in Jefferson, Georgia. It was during his freshman season that he received his first scholarship (NCAA Division I basketball scholarship) in the year 2021. Owing to his undisputed skills and high potential, Trentyn transferred to Huntington Prep School for his sophomore season in Huntington, West Virginia, where he was continually observed and followed by collegiate scouts.
Looking to broaden his horizons, Flowers later transferred to Sierra Canyon School in the heart of Los Angeles, California, midway through his sophomore season. As part of his continuous journey to expand and improve his basketball capabilities, he shifted to Combine Academy in Lincolnton, North Carolina in 2022. An athlete of his caliber, it didn’t take long for Trentyn to be recognized as an elite player and be ranked as a top-10 small forward in the class of 2024.
Trentyn committed to join the Louisville Cardinals on March 17, 2023, and decided to reclassify to the class of 2023, making him eligible to participate in the 2023–24 season. However, later in August 2023, in pursuit of professional growth and to excel at the point guard position, he decommitted from Louisville and signed with the Adelaide 36ers of the National Basketball League (NBL). The inspiration behind this move came from former NBL players LaMelo Ball and Josh Giddey.
After being appointed as the starting point guard by 36ers head coach C. J. Bruton, Trentyn received the opportunity of playing as a point guard. But later, due to strategy adjustments, he was moved to the wing forward position. Regardless of the position, Trentyn showcased his skills and determination time and again on the court, leading his team to numerous victories. However, his journey was not without setbacks. In 2024, he experienced a significant knee injury that affected his in-game performance and temporarily removed him from the playing rotation.
Despite the difficulties, Trentyn remained strong and continued to conquer his dreams. On April 14, 2024, he declared for the 2024 NBA draft and was later invited to participate in the NBA draft combine. Even though he went unselected in the draft, his perseverance never dwindled, leading him to sign a two-way contract with the Los Angeles Clippers on July 25. Soon after, however, he had to step back from the Clippers training camp due to a surgical procedure on his left wrist.
The credit for Trentyn’s strong sports career goes not only to his talent but also to his lineage. His father, Travis Flowers, is a former professional basketball player who played overseas. The exposure and guidance from his father undoubtedly played a significant role in shaping Trentyn’s career. Today, Trentyn Levi Flowers continues to give his best to the game and is considered a powerful player in the NBA sphere.
