Mohamed Fakaba “Mo” Bamba is an American professional basketball center for the Utah Jazz as of September 14, 2026. The Jazz announced his signing on July 10, 2026, after he had previously appeared for Utah during the 2025–26 season. Bamba was born in Harlem, New York, on May 12, 1998, and is listed at 7 feet and 231 pounds.
Bamba played one collegiate season at the University of Texas during the 2017–18 season. He earned All-Big 12 Second Team, All-Big 12 Defensive Team and Big 12 All-Freshman recognition before entering the 2018 NBA Draft. The Orlando Magic selected him with the sixth overall pick in the first round.
Bamba’s game has been built around length, mobility and rim protection. His defensive value comes from contesting shots around the basket, while his offensive role has included finishing near the rim, running the floor and extending defenses with outside shooting.
