Pat Connaughton is an American professional basketball player who plays for the Milwaukee Bucks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was born on January 6, 1993 in Arlington, Massachusetts and attended St. John’s Preparatory School in Danvers, Massachusetts before going on to attend the University of Notre Dame. At Notre Dame, he was a four-year starter for the basketball team from 2011–15 and also played college baseball as a relief pitcher. After graduating with a degree in finance in 2015, he decided to pursue his dream of playing professional basketball and declared for the NBA draft that same year.

The Portland Trail Blazers selected him with the 41st overall pick in 2015 NBA draft. In his rookie season he had limited action initially but as injuries mounted up among his teammates he began to see more court time late into December and January until eventually becoming one of their regular starters by February 2016. During his two seasons with Portland they made it to both postseasons but were eliminated early on each occasion before advancing further into playoffs. Pat then signed with Milwaukee Bucks prior to start of 2017–18 season where has been ever since and currently holds role of back-up guard/small forward alongside teammate Khris Middleton
