Chris Livingston

Christopher “Chris” Livingston, born on October 15, 2003, is a renowned American professional basketball player who has marked his territory in the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) Milwaukee Bucks. Prior to his NBA career, he played college basketball as part of the celebrated Kentucky Wildcats team. Livingston gained widespread recognition as a five-star recruit and was considered one of the top-rated basketball players of the 2022 class.

Born and raised in Akron, Ohio, Livingston’s basketball journey began at a very tender age. At the age of five, the youngster was already competing in passionate and high-energy basketball games, showing signs of a promising career ahead. Livingston’s high school career commenced at the Buchtel Community Learning Center in Akron where he showcased remarkable talent as a freshman. With an average of 24.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game, he effectively led his team towards their first state final four appearance since 1997, a remarkable feat in itself. This impressive performance also made him the highest-scoring freshman in school history.

To explore new horizons and experiences, Livingston transferred to Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, Ohio for his sophomore season. His final game of the season was nothing short of a testament to his talent as he recorded a vigorous score of 50 points, grabbed 20 rebounds, made eight steals, and blocked five shots leading to a resounding 76–65 win against Bristol High School. Throughout the sophomore season, he maintained an awe-inspiring average of 32.5 points, 12.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 2.9 steals, and 1.4 blocks per game, Thus, he was justifiably awarded the MaxPreps Sophomore All-American first team honors.

In the 2020–2021 season, Livingston decided to return home, transferring back to his former school – Buchtel, for his junior year. Already a recognized five-star recruit and noted as one of the front runners of the 2022 class by major recruiting services, he held multiple college basketball scholarship offers even before entering high school. A noteworthy milestone in his career came when Ohio State University offered him a scholarship when he was just 14 years old. On September 15, 2021, Livingston decided to take his talent to the University of Kentucky, declining offers from renowned universities like Georgetown and Tennessee State.

Livingston’s career took a major turn in 2023 when he was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks. Chosen as the last and 58th pick of the NBA draft, he officially signed his contract on July 9, 2023, and began his professional journey in earnest.

In the international scene, Livingston represented the USA at the 2019 FIBA Under-16 Americas Championship held in Belém, Brazil. He played an instrumental role in leading his team to the gold medal. He provided a vigorous performance scoring 23 points, six rebounds, and two assists to secure a 94–77 win against Canada. His exceptional performance in the tournament, earned him the prestigious title of the ‘Most Valuable Player’ and secured him a place in the all-tournament team.

Off the court, Livingston shares a special bond with his twin brother, Cordell. To Chris, Cordell is not only a sibling but a crucial part of his basketball journey. They have been teammates throughout high school, playing together for Oak Hill Academy, Buchtel, and Western Reserve Academy. This bond of theirs transcends the norms of kinship and brings a unique dimension to Livingston’s career as a professional basketball player.
