Jae Crowder is an American professional basketball player currently playing for the Miami Heat of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He previously played for the Dallas Mavericks, Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers and Utah Jazz.

Crowder was born on July 6, 1990 in Villa Rica, Georgia to parents Corey and Helen Crowder. Growing up as a child he loved playing sports such as football and basketball but eventually decided to pursue his passion in basketball. Throughout high school he attended several different schools and during this time began developing a reputation as a top-notch shooter. After graduating from Villa Rica High School in 2008, he committed to play college basketball at Marquette University where he would develop into one of the best players in college basketball over his three years there. In 2011, he declared for the NBA draft after being named Big East Player of the Year and First Team All-Big East selection during his junior year with Marquette University.

In 2012, Jae was selected 34th overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers in that year’s NBA Draft before eventually being traded later that summer to Dallas Mavericks along with Tyler Zeller and Kelenna Azubuike for Jared Cunningham. During his first two seasons with Dallas Mavericks Jae didn’t have much opportunity to make an impact but when given extended minutes due towards injuries sustained by other players on their roster proved himself to be an efficient scorer while also bringing energy off bench making him a valuable asset to team going forward resulting in him signing contract extension prior 2014–15 season beginning which gave him more consistent playing time allowing him further prove himself real deal while becoming integral part Maverick success throughout remainder season culminating playoff appearance at its conclusion.
