Immanuel Quickley is a professional basketball player from the United States. He currently plays for the New York Knicks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Quickley was born in Beltsville, Maryland on December 3rd 1998. He has two brothers and one sister. From an early age he developed a passion for basketball, playing at his local park and rec center in Washington D.C..

Quickley attended John Carroll School in Bel Air, MD where he displayed promise as a guard on both ends of the court. During his senior year at John Carroll School, Quickley averaged 21 points per game which earned him multiple awards such as All-County Player of The Year and Gatorade Player Of The Year for Maryland State High School Basketball in 2017. His high school success led to college recruitment offers from various programs including Kansas State University, Oklahoma Sooners and Villanova Wildcats among others before committing to play Division I basketball with Kentucky Wildcats under head coach John Calipari in 2018.

During his freshman season with Kentucky he made an immediate impact by averaging 16 points per game while shooting 40 percent from three point land and being named SEC Sixth Man Of The Year Award Winner (2018-19) by coaches across the NCAA division 1 conferences . As a sophomore during 2019-20 season Immanuel led team scoring with 14 points per contest while also making over 40 percent of his shots behind arc plus 81 percent of free throws earning himself Associated Press First Team All American honors along with Naismith College Player Of The Year award nomination as well .

In 2020 Immanuel decided to forego final two years eligibility of college ball opting instead for NBA draft that same year going 25th overall pick to Oklahoma City Thunder before being traded shortly after draft night to New York Knicks where he will now be able to hit big stage showcasing incredible skillset that enabled him rise through ranks all way up starting from humble beginnings playing local parks or rec centers back home .
