Bruce Brown's Biography

Bruce Brown is one of the greatest NBA players in history. He was born on March 14, 1944 in Long Beach, California and started playing basketball at an early age. He attended local junior college before transferring to the University of New Mexico in 1965 where he spent two years playing for their team, the Lobos.

Brown was drafted by the Detroit Pistons with the second overall pick of 1966 NBA draft and quickly became one of their most important players due to his defensive abilities as well as his ability to score consistently from all areas on the court. During his rookie season, Brown averaged 16 points per game and 8 assists per game while earning All-Rookie honors and leading Detroit to a 44–38 record which was good enough for fourth place in their division that year.

In 1969–70, Brown’s performance reached a new level as he led Detroit to a Central Division Championship with an incredible 24–7 start aided by his 18.3 points per game average which ranked him near the top of scoring leaders for that season. His outstanding play earned him an All-Star selection that year too along with averaging 7 assists per game and nearly 5 rebounds making him truly one of the best all around guards during this era when small ball dominated much of NBA action up until then.

The following season Bruce continued his strong play helping Detroit reach its first ever finals appearance only losing out four games to three against star studded Los Angeles Lakers roster featuring Jerry West, Elgin Baylor & Wilt Chamberlain among others thereby denying them another championship that had eluded them since 1957 when they won last time round under George Yardley’s leadership back then. Moreover they also failed again when they qualified next time during 1974 after having been defeated by Celtics 4 games 2 despite having eliminated Bucks convincingly earlier first round playoffs series 3 games 1 already way ahead even then so nothing can be taken away from how great this player truly was!

On February 11th 1976 Brown announced retirement at just 31 years old citing health issues as main reason behind decision though still touted today throughout whole league especially within Pistons organization even today giving plenty more reason why people should remember name Bruce Brown fondly forevermore now .

Overall , Bruce brown is considered one of teh best guards ever played in nba . He has achieved numerous accolades including being inducted into Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall Of Fame In 1988 .
