BIOGRAPHY

Polyana Viana is a professional mixed martial artist and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) practitioner. She currently fights in the women’s flyweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Viana is primarily known for her aggressive style and relentless pursuit of victory, which has earned her an impressive record of 11-4 as a professional MMA fighter.

Viana was born in Fortaleza, Brazil on February 18th 1991, and began training martial arts at the age of 13. She initially trained Judo alongside her brother, but eventually found herself drawn to BJJ after watching UFC events with her father. As time went on she became increasingly passionate about training BJJ and decided to pursue it as a career path when she was 16 years old.

At just 20 years old Viana made her amateur debut in 2011 where she quickly gained attention by winning all four fights via submission; three by armbar and one by triangle chokehold. After amassing an undefeated amateur record of 6-0, which included two knockouts and two submissions, Polyana turned pro in 2014 signing with Jungle Fight MMA promotion at an event held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Viana made waves early on as a professional fighter going 4-0 before signing with XFC International promotion in 2015; during this period she won three more bouts before making history when she signed with UFC as part of their first female flyweight division roster officially making her the first Brazilian woman signed to fight under the organization’s banner contracts back then were still exclusive per gender basis other than straw weight division witch also had male divisions,.
In 2018 Viana earned her first official win inside the octagon after defeating Maia Stevenson via unanimous decision at “UFC Fight Night: Machida vs Anders” only 1 month since joining their ranks . Since then Polyana has gone 3-2 continuing to make waves throughout UFC despite losing back to back matches against Alexa Grasso & Jorgensen . In 2020 , Polyana competed agains Viviane Araujo at “UFC Fight Night 170” where she won via unanimous decision being awarded another performance bonus for that match up . The same year , Polyana returned into action facing Mallory Martin at “UFNC Fight Night 181 “where once again defeated opponent via unanimous decision ; achieving 5 out 7 wins inside octagon so far alongiside 2 performance bonuses awards given due exceptional talent & skill displayed throughout those matches .

Today ,Polyanna stands tall amongst most prominent fighters within female Fly Weight Roster constantly representing Brazil across world wide stages while paving way for future generations both females & males alike showing everyone that hard work can payoff despite existing challenges or obstacles set forth along our paths proving anything is possible if we truly put our minds & hearts into it..
