Philip Lins is an American mixed martial arts fighter and the current Ultimate Fighting Championship Heavyweight Champion. Born on April 25, 1993 in São Paulo, Brazil, he began his career as an MMA fighter at a young age of 16.
After much success in local Brazilian tournaments and competitions, Lins left for the United States to pursue his dream of becoming a world-class MMA athlete. In 2016 he signed with Bellator Fighting Championships and quickly became one of their most successful competitors. He won five consecutive bouts during his time with Bellator before moving on to the UFC in 2017.
Since joining the UFC, Philip has continued to impress fans around the world with his skill set and fearless attitude inside the octagon. His record currently stands at 8 wins and 1 loss inside the octagon – with six of those wins by either knockout or submission – making him one of only four fighters to have earned both forms of victory within their first seven fights inside the promotion’s cage.
His most impressive performance came against former WWE wrestler CJ “The Pyscho Killer” Perry when he defeated her by unanimous decision after dominating all three rounds with superior striking technique that included hard leg kicks which weakened her base throughout each round until she was unable to keep up late into fight night’s main event matchup between himself and former Strikeforce champion Fabricio Werdum who had been widely considered unbeatable prior to this victory over him back in 2020 at UFC Fight Night 183: Werdum vs Lins .
Outside of fighting, Philip is an avid musician playing guitar as well as other instruments such as drums/percussion/keyboard -all genres from classical/folkloric music through jazz/rock & more-. He also spends much time training Muay Thai Kickboxing at Edge Fitness where he regularly competes in local amateur tournaments alongside fellow students who look up to him for guidance & inspiration for their own endeavors behind combat sports related activities .
Philip is a strong believer that it takes dedication & hard work coupled together along w/a positive attitude towards life experiences whether good or bad -to be able reach one’s ultimate goals no matter what they may be- while staying humble throughout every step taken along any given journey towards achieving greatness regardless if it involves physical strength or mental determination taking place upon life’s path one must take.. Above all else though above anything else ever imagined–is having faith within oneself no matter what stands before them—for faith does move mountains!
