Maxim Grishin is a professional mixed martial artist from Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. He competes in the light heavyweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). As of March 2021, he currently sits at #11 in the official UFC rankings.

Grishin began his career training at the prestigious Sambo-70 gym where he studied under Alexander Shlemenko. He made his professional MMA debut in 2011 and quickly rose through the ranks while competing primarily as a middleweight fighter. During this time, Grishin compiled an impressive 11-3 record with notable wins over former Bellator Light Heavyweight champions Emanuel Newton and Liam McGeary.

Grishin was eventually signed by M-1 Global, which would become one of his primary sponsors throughout his career. In 2016, he won their light heavyweight championship when he defeated Vyacheslav Vasilevsky via unanimous decision to pick up his twelfth win as a professional fighter. Grishin then transitioned to the Rizn Combat organization where he competed for two years before signing with UFC in 2019.

During his brief run inside the octagon thus far, Maxim has proven himself to be one of lightweight’s most promising prospects proving tough competition against top contenders such as Ovince Saint Preux and Ion Cutelaba so far going 2 -2 overall with both losses relatively close decisions on scorecards . His biggest victory came back against Ricardo Ramos whom he finished off via TKO due to ground and pound strikes last October 2020 . Adding onto that , Grishin has been described by some fellow fighters and coaches alike as being a humble individual who has outstanding cardio & conditioning despite not being able to get long breaks between fights due to frequent injuries . Despite all these shortcomings , Maxim holds an admirable record so far at 13 wins 7 losses .

At age 36 today , we can only expect more great performances from him for many more years if kept healthy & injury free given how much talent & determination Maxim possesses along with solid technique based upon mastering various combat styles including Muay Thai , Jiu Jitsu & Russian Sambo which keeps him relevant amongst other highly talented athletes inside cage walls making him one of UFC’s finest athletes today !
