Nate Maness has established himself as one of the top competitors in the UFC. A former high school wrestler, Maness began his professional career in mixed martial arts (MMA) in 2014. After winning his first three fights via stoppage, he joined the UFC and made his debut at Fight Night: McGregor vs. Siver in 2014. Since then, he’s gone on to win 11 fights and become one of the most feared fighters in the octagon.
Maness was born and raised in South Burlington, Vermont. His father is a veteran and served two tours with the US Army during Operation Desert Storm/Shield. Nate played football, basketball, hockey and wrestled while attending Champlain Valley Union High School where he graduated with honors before enrolling at Johnson State University to study exercise science and nutrition management.
At Johnson State University Maness wrestled for four years both freestyle & folkstyle all-conference honors twice & state champ once (2014). In addition to wrestling he also competed amateur MMA fights finishing 4-0 as an amateur fighter before signing with Bellator MMA on June 22nd 2015 taking part in their Bantamweight division bouts after being scouted out by head coach Eric Thorburn who had trained him from 2013 -2015 when Nate won several medals including 2 Silver metals at USA Wrestling’s National Championships held annually since 1967 . He opened up training camps near South Burlington at Freedom Fighters gym which mainly caters for local wrestlers but also welcomes fighters of any level or discipline looking to stay active like pro wrestlers Dolph Ziggler , Sammy Guevara , Ricochet & Brian Cage who have all visited this gym over past few years along side other household names such as 2009 NCAA lightweight champion Lance Palmer now under contract with PFL promotion alongside fellow UFC alumni Aljamain Sterling .
On July 25th 2015 it was officially announced that Nate would be joining Bellator MMA Bantamweight roster competing against 8 opponents over course next 6 months earning 7 wins & 1 loss helping propel him into headlines making people take notice throughout industry which earned recognition from promotion itself offerring him full time contract which led onto fighting even more competition reaching impressive record 17 Wins -1 Loss leading onto getting called up for Ultimate Fighting Championship event taking place Singapore 9th January 2016 resigning into featherweight divisions beating Mairbek Taisumovin seconds via submission due guillotine choke earning performance bonus night something that would help set tone rest career moving forward .
Within span 5 years inside Octagon now holds formidable record 13 Wins -3 losses having fought some best within sport such Dominick Cruz , Cole Escovedo & Urijah Faber most recently becoming biggest name within sport only falling short Miguel Angel Torres title bout earlier this year losing points decision split judge’s scorecards main event blockbuster show TUF finale: Team Gaethje vs Team Ferreira trying retain Featherweight Gold belt however still holds ranking 13th Featherweight contenders list whilst currently operating solely Freedom Fighters gym hoping continue success achieving multiples accolades across sports
