Johnny Munoz is an American mixed martial artist and professional UFC fighter who has been competing in the sport since 2011. He started training in martial arts at a young age, studying karate and judo as a child before taking up Brazilian jiu-jitsu during his teenage years. Born on August 21st, 1987 in East Los Angeles, California, he grew up surrounded by the culture of extreme fighting sports.
Munoz made his professional MMA debut at Bellator 67 where he won via submission against Alka Matewa. After winning his next two fights for Bellator, including one that earned him a Knockout of the Night bonus from Sherdog magazine, Munoz was signed to the UFC later that year. His first fight was against promotional newcomer Tim Elliott at UFC Fight Night: Swanson vs Stephens in 2013 and he scored a unanimous decision victory over Elliott to earn his first win inside the Octagon.
Since then Johnny ‘The Haggis Basher’ Munoz has gone on to compete five times under the worldwide promotion and amassed an impressive record of 4-1 with all four wins coming by way of T/KO or submission – three submissions victories and one knockout victory which earned him Performance Of The Night honors from Dana White’s Tuesday night Contender Series 2019 event when he submitted Joe Soto with an arm triangle choke just 15 seconds into round 1.
As well as being an active competitor inside the octagon Johnny also works hard outside it teaching classes at various gyms around Los Angeles County while still balancing personal life commitments such as spending time with family & friends or driving around town checking out new places for potential leisure activities like going fishing or camping etc.. While not commonly known publicly due to keeping it low key; Johnny is also involved in several philanthropic projects & charities helping support causes ranging from animal rights awareness/rescue programs right through to disadvantaged kids initiatives & inner city revitalization efforts etc..
Outside of being an athlete Johnny enjoys playing video games (especially role playing games) watching movies (sci-fi is favorite genre) reading books (mostly fantasy/fiction type stuff) listening to music (likes hip hop mostly but open minded towards almost any genre depending on mood) travelling abroad when possible trying out different cultural experiences along way plus cooking food occasionally too… As you can tell there’s much more too this man than meets the eye!
In conclusion we can see that despite only beginning his career relatively recently Johnny ‘The Haggis Basher’ Munoz looks set for big things both inside & outside MMA with plenty more exciting times ahead!
