BIOGRAPHY

Mike Grundy is a professional mixed martial artist, currently competing in the featherweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. The UK native began his competitive MMA career in 2011, and since then has gone on to win multiple titles across various promotions. He has also made appearances on world renowned fight cards such as Cage Warriors and Brave Combat Federation.

Grundy was born in Manchester, England, where he spent most of his childhood before moving to Liverpool for high school. As a young boy he was heavily influenced by sports such as rugby league and football but soon fell in love with Mixed Martial Arts after watching UFC events from around 2001 onwards – this inspired him to pursue a career within the sport himself.

He eventually found his way into an MMA gym at age 21, where he developed a passion for the sport and trained hard under legendary coach John Kavanagh at SBG Ireland (Straight Blast Gym). After three years of solid training under Kavanagh’s tutelage, Grundy finally put together an amateur record consisting mainly of wins – allowing him to make the transition into professional competition shortly thereafter.

Since turning pro in 2011 at age 24 Mike Grundy has gone on to compete against notable opponents such as Damo Weeden (BAMMA), Paddy Pimblett (Cage Warriors) and Nad Narimani (Brave CF). In addition to this impressive list Mike has also earned several championship belts including; BAMMA Featherweight Champion (2012-2013); CGW Lightweight Champion (2014) & World Amateur Flyweight Champion via IMMAF tournaments held between 2013-2015 respectively. Furthermore Grundy holds knockout victories over both former CWFC lightweight champion Martin Stapleton & former Brave CF bantamweight champion Stephen Loman too!

Not only does Mike have many accomplishments inside of the cage but outside it too – His current record stands at 13 fights with 11 wins which includes 8 knockouts/tko’s – making him one of Britain’s top prospects when it comes down fighting talent alone! In 2018 ‘The Prospect’ signed with UFC after being offered a contract due largely thanks his impressive performance against Ryan Scope during their co-main event bout earlier that year – proving once again why Mike is considered one Britain’s best fighters today!
