Michelle Waterson-Gomez is a UFC fighter and former Invicta FC Atomweight Champion. She began her martial arts and fighting career at the age of 10, when she began training in Karate at her local dojo. Michelle quickly excelled in Karate and earned several titles throughout her high school years.

After graduating high school, Michelle was accepted into the University of Denver where she obtained a bachelors degree in Business Management with an emphasis on Entrepreneurship. During this time, she also trained with MMA star Cub Swanson at his gym “The Shed”, where she developed an aptitude for Mixed Martial Arts which led to her eventually becoming a professional MMA fighter.

In 2007 Michelle made her professional debut against Andrea Miller in King of the Cage: Avalanche winning via TKO just seconds into the 1st round. She would go on to win all 6 of her fights for KOTC before transitioning over to World Victory Road/Sengoku Raiden Championships (SRC) where she competed from 2008 until 2011 amassing a record of 5 wins and 2 losses during that span including victories against Lisa Ellis-Ward & Jinh Yu Frey among others as well as picking up one draw along the way against Hisae Watanabe while competing at Strawweight (105lbs).

After departing SRC, Michelle signed with Invicta Fighting Championship becoming their inaugural Atomweight champion after defeating Jessica Penne via 3rd Round Submission (Rear Naked Choke)at Invicta FC 1: knuckle fists on April 28th 2012 defending it once versus Lacey Schuckman by unanimous decision prior to being signed by UFC later that year marking history as being part of their first female strawweight division bout against popular 115lb standout Paige Vanzant who won via Unanimous Decision ending both ladies perfect records up until then .

Since joining UFC in 2015, Michelle has compiled a record 4 -4 fight record earning wins over Angela Magana , Cortney Casey , Felice Herrig & most recently Yan Xiaonan whom lost via Unanimous Decision back In November 2020 . Unfortunately an ACL tear suffered shortly after defeating Herrig ultimately put things on halt temporarily resulting In two straight decisions losses but has since returned back too form bouncing back last november with said victory over Xiaonan .

Outside The Octagon ,Michelle is seen regularly making television appearances such as being featured as co-hosting Fox Sports Live alongside Joel Klatt , competeing In various reality shows such as Fear Factor & The Amazing Race along side husband Eric Gomez amongst many other noteworthy tv related projects . All while having become largely recognized face internationally through involvement within nutrition & apparel companies such s Body Armor drink , Reebok Clothing line & Monster Energy Drink etc.. Aside from fighting professionally & TV appearances / Endorsements “The karate Hottie” Is highly devoted mother To daughter Araya whom shared same passion towards Martial Arts actively engaging together thru various competitions held nationally which starred both mother& daughter gaining recognition even outside sports world due media covering those events extensively exposing them further Internationally previously mentioned projects became platform for Araya’s budding acting career thus far landing numerous roles movies/tv series ect.. Although now retired from competitively active participation inside cage or ring away from martial arts mats still remains etch figure within camps across globe providing instructional guidance plus expertise inspiriting athletes worldwide further exceeding expectations who perhaps wish emulate what many consider USAs best atom weight female athlete ever produced ..
