Melsik Baghdasaryan is an Armenian-born professional mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter competing in the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s (UFC) middleweight division. As of March 2021, Baghdasaryan holds a record of 11 wins and 1 loss in his MMA career.
Baghdasaryan was born on October 12, 1988 in Yerevan, Armenia. He started training at the age of five and has trained extensively ever since then. Growing up he was exposed to wrestling, Judo and Sambo which shaped him into becoming a fierce competitor in the cage. When he moved to Russia at 17 years old he began training more intensely with renowned fighters such as Fedor Emelianenko and Alexander Emelianenko which further developed his skillset for MMA competition.
After building an impressive 7-1 record as an amateur fighter Baghdasaryan made his professional debut in September 2015 where he successfully defeated Dmitry Komissarov via submission due to strikes during their bout at ProFC: Grand Prix 2016 Final Round event held in Grozny, Russia. Following this performance Baghdasaryan continued gaining momentum by winning six consecutive fights until suffering his first loss against former Cage Warriors Middleweight Champion Jack Hermansson at Fight Nights Global 87 on June 16th 2018 by unanimous decision after three rounds of action packed combat inside the cage
On May 9th 2020 it was announced that Melsik had signed with UFC following two successful bouts outside of the promotion where he earned victories via technical knockout over Dan Konecke and James Terry respectively during ACB 88 & 89 events held earlier that year After signing with UFC Melsik has won two out of three fights including one bonus winning performance when he faced KB Bhullar during UFC On ESPN 20 fight night event held last January
Despite being a part time fighter due to working full time outside of MMA Baghdasarian still finds a way to keep improving showing dedication not just inside but also outside of octagon Outside fighting Melisk devotes most pf his free time towards helping others achieve their own goals whether it’s through mentorship or leading seminars focused around developing psychological strength within athletes
With only one defeat under his belt so far Melsik looks forward facing higher ranked opponents while continuing making progress towards achieving championship status within UFC Middleweight Division
