Kyle Daukaus is a professional mixed martial artist from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He currently competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and fights in the middleweight division. He began his career as an amateur fighter before turning pro in 2018, and has since compiled a professional record of 10-2.
Daukaus was born on June 23rd, 1994 to parents John and Jill Daukaus. Growing up in Pennsylvania, he took part in wrestling during high school and college until graduating with a degree in marketing from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. After college he worked at Sprint while continuing to train MMA on the side under his coaches Adam Hunter, Jared Hess and Michael Imperato Jr., where they also created their own team called ‘Team Shark Tank’.
In 2018 Kyle made his pro debut by defeating Sean Santella via technical submission at Ring of Combat 63 held at Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall. After four more victories over notable opponents such as Justin Gonzales and Antonio Paulino Jr., he signed with Bellator MMA where he recorded two wins against Rodolfo Neves Rocha by unanimous decision and John De Jesus by TKO (punches). In 2020 Kyle made his UFC debut after signing a contract with the promotion; winning his first fight against Brendan Allen via split decision which earned him ‘Fight of The Night’ honors for their bout at UFC Fight Night 177 held on August 8th that same year; going onto win three more consecutive bouts within eight months against Parker Porter, Aliaskhab Khiziev & Dustin Stoltzfus respectively; earning ‘Performance Of The Night’ bonuses for both Khiziev & Stoltzfus bouts due to their finishes via punches & arm-triangle choke respectively.
Most recently Kyle competed against former welterweight champion Carlos Condit where he lost via unanimous decision at UFC Vegas 24 held on April 17th 2021; despite losing this bout it showed just how talented Kyle truly is as one could argue that he outclassed Condit throughout all three rounds leading many fans to believe that this loss won’t be too damaging to him considering how well they thought he performed throughout the fight despite coming up short having lost 29-28 across all 3 score cards due to Condits significantly superior striking output over the course 15 minutes these judges felt gave him enough points edge out an otherwise clean sweep performance from Daukaus according to journalist statistical analysis post fight press conference interview listed below:
