Ketlen “Fenomeno” Souza is a Brazilian mixed martial artist currently competing in the bantamweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Born on August 26, 1991, in Manaus, Brazil, she began training at Corinthians MMA at the age of 17.

In 2013, Souza made her professional debut for Shooto Brazil and went on to win her first eight fights before signing with Invicta FC and becoming their inaugural bantamweight champion. After five successful title defenses with Invicta FC over two years, she joined the UFC in 2016.

Despite entering the sport late compared to most professional fighters at only 22 years old, Souza quickly rose up through the ranks due to her diligent training and relentless work ethic inside and outside of competition. Since joining UFC’s women’s bantamweight roster in 2016, Souza has gone 6-2-1 which includes four wins by submission as well as two victories by unanimous decision against top contenders such as Sara McMann and Irene Aldana. She has also earned $717 thousand USD from fighting bonuses alone since signing with UFC according to Tapology data.

At only 27 years old Ketlen is still considered one of rising stars within MMA having headlined several cards throughout 2020 including a main event performance against Holly Holm ahead of UFC 250 for which she won fighter-of-the night honors along with Fight Night 172 co-main event victory against Marion Reneau earning another fight night bonus award. Additionally she was nominated for 2019 female fighter of year award by World MMA Awards after notable victories versus Cat Zingano and Sijara Eubanks that same year cementing herself within world rankings #3 overall behind Amanda Nunes & Germaine de Randamie.. On December 28th 2020 ,Souza will attempt to add another victory when facing off against former champion Megan Anderson during an upcoming PPV card scheduled for this end date .
