Daniel “The Pit”Pineda

Daniel Pineda is an American Mixed Martial Arts Fighter who has competed in the UFC, Strikeforce and Bellator organizations. Born on December 8, 1983 in Austin, Texas, Daniel began martial arts training at a very young age and developed an interest in MMA early on. He started his career as an amateur fighter before turning professional in 2006.

Throughout his career he had great success competing for various promotions such as WEC (now absorbed by the UFC), Strikeforce and Bellator. His most notable fights include a win over future UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov at Shark Fights 13: Jardine Vs Prangley 2 back in 2010, which earned him the “Knockout of the Night” bonus; a loss against Chad Mendes at Bellator 116; and two wins against Marlon Sandro via submission at World Series of Fighting 1 & 4 respectively that earned him “Submission of the Night” honors both times.

In 2016 Pineda signed with Ultimate Fighting Championship after being casted to appear on The Ultimate Fighter season 25 where he reached the semi-finals but lost to eventual winner Jesse Taylor via Submission due to Rear Naked Choke hold. Following this defeat he returned to Bellator FC and faced former champion Patricio Pitbull achieving another “Submission of The Night” bonus with Triangle Choke hold victory that earned him special recognition from MMA fans all around US .

Currently residing in San Diego California , Pineda continues training with Alliance MMA under coach Eric Del Fiero alongside renowned fighters including Michael Chandler , Cub Swanson among others . Daniel is known for his technical abilities combined with strength making it hard opponents to stand up against him during matches .
