Dalcha Lungiambula is an Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) athlete and mixed martial artist from Pretoria, South Africa. He is currently signed with the UFC’s light heavyweight division and competes as a middleweight fighter. He has a record of 6-2-0 in his professional MMA career since beginning in 2012, which includes four finishes by knockout or submission.
Dalcha was born on May 17th 1989 in Pretoria, South Africa. As a child he practiced Muay Thai and Karate from an early age before attending high school at Sekolo Sa Borokgo Secondary School where he continued to excel in martial arts and even began competing in boxing tournaments. After high school Dalcha decided to focus more heavily on his fighting career and quickly earned himself recognition as one of top up-and-coming amateur fighters in South Africa’s regional scene after winning multiple titles including the XFC Middleweight Amateur Championship title, FFA Battlegrounds Middleweight title and EFC Amateur Featherweight title amongst others.
In 2016 Dalcha made the decision to turn pro making his debut at Extreme Fighting Championship 54 when he finished off Emmanuel Ndou via first round technical knockout becoming 1–0 as a professional fighter overnight. From there he went onto compete for other promotions such as Brave Combat Federation before eventually earning himself a contract with UFC after 2 years of being undefeated across all platforms picking up wins over notable names such as Christiano Frohlich, Vuyani Bungu & Ramsey Debeerse along the way .
On March 14th 2020 it was announced that Dalch had signed with UFC to compete at Light Heavyweight Division under their flagship show The Ultimate Fighter which saw him make his promotional debut against Dequan Townsend at TUF 28 finale on July 6th 2019 , where unfortunately lost via unanimous decision getting knocked down twice during 3 rounds of action . Following this loss Dalcha bounced back with two consecutive wins beating Dusko Todorovic via split decision at UFC Fight Night 150 followed by knocking out Markus Perez within first round during Fight Island 5 card .
He will now face off against Gadzhimurad Antigulov during upcoming fight night event due later this year on May 22nd 2021 looking to add yet another win under his belt while expanding even further into world rankings within light heavyweight division’s elite list of contenders who are eyeing championship gold eventually down line if given opportunity presented itself accordingly .
