BIOGRAPHY
Chepe Mariscal is a featherweight fighter from Guadalajara, Mexico. He is currently fighting in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Mariscal began his competitive martial arts journey at a young age when he was just 11 years old. During this time, he trained and competed in various disciplines such as Muay Thai, boxing, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Mariscal rose to prominence quickly after winning three amateur tournaments within one year. After two more successful amateur tournaments under his belt, Chepe officially turned professional in 2013 and won his first two bouts that year against Jose Salinas by submission via rear-naked choke and Raul Carrizales by decision.
In 2014 Mariscal had an incredible nine fight win streak which included winning four fights for Combate Americas Promotion where he captured their lightweight championship beating Alfonso Gonzales via unanimous decision in 2015. In 2016 Chepe then signed with the UFC and made his debut match against Andre Soukhamthath on December 16th of that year at the historic Madison Square Garden arena in New York City; however, he lost via split decision despite a strong performance throughout all three rounds.
Undeterred by the defeat Chepe continued to work hard to improve himself as a fighter building up an impressive record which included 6 wins out of 8 fights before signing with BRAVE Combat Federation (BCF) — an international mixed martial arts organization based out of Bahrain — where he was able to continue competing without having any issues due to being based outside of North America for most part 2020s due travel restrictions related Covid pandemic making it difficult for him keep training here stateside as much desired if not impossible some cases while still maintaining same level quality efforts put forth previous years prior joining BCF roster help get back into groove ultimately leading inspirational comeback victory over experienced opponent Steven Siler National Anthem playing background after engaging tough battle lasting full five minutes energy crowd ecstatic response unforgettable moment both fans alike felt appreciated effort dished greatest heights own career thus far yet another milestone accomplished addition many others already achieved past decade alone since originally beginning martial artist sport early 2000s till present day 2021 .
