Ben Rothwell is an American mixed martial artist and a veteran of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He made his UFC debut in 2008 at UFC Fight Night 14 against Junior dos Santos, where he lost via unanimous decision. Since then, he has gone on to compile a record of 21 wins and 9 losses.
Rothwell was born in Kenosha Wisconsin in 1981. At age 18, he began training Jiu-Jitsu under former UFC fighter Rich Lucke at Team Punishment in Milwaukee. It was here that Ben took up MMA full time and eventually signed with the UFC after compiling a successful 8-1 amateur record.
Since joining the UFC, Rothwell has fought some of the biggest names in MMA including Fabricio Werdum, Andrei Arlovski and Josh Barnett among others. While he has won several fights by knockout or submission during his career, most notably against Matt Mitrione at UFC Fight Night 68 which earned him ‘Performance of the Night’ honors from the promotion; overall it hasn’t been smooth sailing for Ben as 4 out of his last 6 fights have ended in defeat.
In April 2018 Rothwell returned to winning ways with a unanimous decision victory against Marcin Tybura at UFC Fight Night 128 which saw him win back-to-back victories for only the second time since joining the organization 10 years ago; The first being wins over Shawn Jordan and Alistair Overeem back in 2015/2016 respectively.
Outside of fighting competition inside Octagon cage Ben likes spending time outdoors camping or fishing but also enjoys watching movies such as Rocky Balboa or any action packed movie; this combined with hard work makes him stand out from other fighters when it comes to entertainment value for fans who watch him fight on television or live events alike; this enthusiasm is one thing why people love him so much! Despite all these challenges throughout his career so far – Ben remains humble but focused on becoming one day undisputed champion inside octagon cage showing world that anything can be achieved if you put your heart into something!
