BIOGRAPHY

Ihor Potieria is a professional UFC athlete and one of the most promising fighters in his weight class. He was born in Ukraine but moved to the United States when he was 18 years old. Ihor’s background includes wrestling, judo, pankration and kickboxing. His career started out with amateur MMA fights before turning pro right after turning 18 years old.

Since then, Ihor has gone on to become one of the best MMA fighters in his weight class. He currently holds a blue belt rank in Brazillian Jiu Jitsu and has trained extensively under some of the top BJJ coaches from around the world, such as Lloyd Irvin and Paulo Miyao among others. In addition to that, he also trains Muay Thai kickboxing at Tiger Muay Thai gym located in San Diego where he resides today.

His professional fighting record stands at 7-1 with all seven wins coming by way of submission or knockout (TKO). His only loss came via decision against former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar at The Ultimate Fighter Finale back in 2013 which earned him “Fight Of The Night” honors for an outstanding performance despite not getting his hand raised that night.
