Askar “Bullet”Askarov

Askar Askarov is a professional mixed martial artist currently competing in the UFC’s flyweight division. Born in Grozny, Russia on May 8th, 1993, Askarov began his combat sports career at the age of 16 when he started training and competing in amateur wrestling competitions. He quickly gained recognition for his natural athleticism and finesse as a wrestler, winning several regional championships during his teenage years. His success as an amateur wrestler earned him a spot on the Russian national team where he competed against some of the world’s best wrestlers at multiple international events.

In 2013, Askarov made the transition to mixed martial arts by joining ACB (Absolute Championship Berkut), one of Europe’s top MMA organizations at that time. Over two years with ACB, Askaov had racked up an impressive 6-0 record with 3 submission victories and 3 TKO/KO wins — earning him a chance to compete inside the Octagon under Dana White’s UFC banner during Invicta FC 34: Februaray 22nd 2019 when he signed a multi-fight deal with The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Making his promotional debut against Tim Elliott at UFC 246: McGregor vs Cowboy held January 18th 2020., Askarov put on an impressive display of skill by taking home a unanimous decision victory (30-27 x3) allowing him to extend his undefeated streak to 10 fights straight! Since then Askaov has continued dominating opponents amassing 4 more consecutive victories over Brandon Moreno (UD), Alexandre Pantoja (UD), Joseph Benavidez(SD) & Demetrious Johnson(UQ).

Askarov’s most recent fight took place on April 24th 2021 against Brandon Royval where Askaov not only extended his winning streak but also become crowned champion after making history by submitting Royval via D’Arce choke submission just 2 minutes into round 1 becoming only 2nd fighter after Henry Cejudo to submit Mighty Mouse making him current number 6 ranked flyweight fighter according to official UFC rankings. With all this being said it can be definitively stated that there is no doubt that we are looking at potential champions material here in form of young Russian sensation who will continue showcasing his skills for foreseeable future inside octagon for fans pleasure!
