Younghoe Koo Bio
Younghoe Koo is an NFL placekicker born August 3, 1994, in Seoul, South Korea. He moved to New Jersey at age 12 and played at Ridgewood High School before attending Georgia Southern. Koo entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2017, later playing for the Atlanta Legends of the Alliance of American Football and spending time with the New England Patriots before establishing himself with the Atlanta Falcons.
Koo joined Atlanta during the 2019 season and became known for his accuracy, range and ability to handle pressure kicks. His breakthrough came in 2020, when he earned his first Pro Bowl selection and was recognized for a standout season that included a Falcons single-season record for made field goals at the time. He also became notable for his successful onside-kick execution and late-game field goals.
The Falcons released Koo on September 19, 2025. He subsequently joined the New York Giants’ practice squad and was waived on December 16, 2025. The New York Jets signed him on May 28, 2026, but waived him on June 3, 2026, so he was not established as a member of an NFL roster as of September 13, 2026.
