Tyrone Tracy Bio
Tyrone Tracy Jr., famed American football star, was born on November 23, 1999. He has held an illustrious career as a professional football running back, presently lending his extensive skills, vigorous athleticism, and vast experience to the New York Giants of the National Football League (NFL).
Originally hailing from Indianapolis, Tracy attended Decatur Central High School, where his innate abilities as a football prodigy started to reveal themselves. He demonstrated a remarkable presence on the field, particularly in his senior season. Here, he achieved an impressive feat of rushing for 1,412 yards with 13 touchdowns, while also pulling in 54 passes totalling 1,132 yards, and scoring an additional 16 touchdowns. His high school career was marked by remarkable statistics which led to his rating as a three-star recruit. As he ventured into college football, he held a steadfast determination to hone his craft, leading him to commit to play for the Iowa Hawkeyes.
During the 2019 season, Tyrone Tracy displayed a relentless pursuit of excellence on the gridiron. Demonstrating an elusive, agile performance as a receiver, he hauled in 36 receptions for 589 yards and crossed the plane thrice while adding another touchdown on the ground. The following year, despite the challenges of a COVID-shortened 2020 season, Tracy showed remarkable resilience. He hit the mark with 14 receptions for 154 yards and even managed to find his way into the end zone.
Transitions were ahead as Tracy moved into the 2021 season. Though his contributions were lesser numerically, he still put in a solid performance – 15 receptions for 106 yards and a touchdown. Encountering challenges and seeking fresh opportunities to grow as a player, Tracy decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal at the conclusion of the 2021 season.
The Purdue Boilermakers welcomed Tracy into their fold next. Here, his 2022 season saw him chalk up 138 yards on 17 rush attempts, pulling in an added 28 receptions for 198 yards. But Tracy’s journey was far from over, as he sought to redefine his role on the field.
With an adventurous spirit, he decided to transition from being a wide receiver to play as running back in the 2023 season. In the fifth week of the same season, he rushed 21 times for 112 yards and a touchdown, leading to a win against Illinois. That year, Tracy culminated with a whopping rush of 716 yards and eight touchdowns on 113 carries, while also displaying his versatility by making 19 catches for 132 yards. Reaching a new pinnacle at the conclusion of the 2023 season, Tracy decided to use his momentous career to catapult him into the professional football scene by declaring for the 2024 NFL draft.
The New York Giants seized on the opportunity to welcome Tracy to their lineup. Drafted in the 5th round (166th overall) of the 2024 NFL draft, he has since proven his mettle in the professional league. His first NFL start occurred in Week 5 of the 2024 season against the Seattle Seahawks due to an injury to Devin Singletary. Exhibiting true tenacity and skill, Tracy ran the ball 18 times for 129 yards, averaging an incredible 7.2 yards per carry. This impressive performance cemented Tracy’s place as a rising star in the NFL and further emphasized his significance in the football fraternity.
