Tyrod Taylor

Tyrod Taylor is an American professional football quarterback for the Green Bay Packers as of September 12, 2026. The Packers signed Taylor on May 4, 2026, giving the veteran an opportunity to continue his NFL career as an experienced backup and locker-room leader. He is listed at 6 feet 1 inch and was born on August 3, 1989, in Hampton, Virginia. Taylor is recognized for his mobility, calm decision-making and ability to extend plays outside the pocket.

Taylor played college football at Virginia Tech, where he became one of the most accomplished quarterbacks in program history. He helped the Hokies win ACC championships and was named the ACC Player of the Year in 2010. After graduating from Virginia Tech in 2010 with a degree in residential property management, Taylor entered the 2011 NFL Draft and was selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the sixth round, 180th overall. He was part of Baltimore’s Super Bowl XLVII championship team before later taking on starting opportunities with the Buffalo Bills and other NFL clubs.

During his career, Taylor has played for the Ravens, Bills, Browns, Los Angeles Chargers, Texans, New York Giants and New York Jets before joining Green Bay. His playing style combines athletic movement, scrambling ability and selective downfield passing, allowing him to operate both inside and outside a conventional pocket. Taylor also established the Tyrod Taylor Foundation, which supports youth in underserved communities through education, charitable giving and personal development initiatives.
