Tyrod Taylor

Tyrod Taylor is an American professional football player who has made a significant name for himself in the National Football League (NFL). Born on August 3, 1989, in Hampton, Virginia, USA, Taylor’s passion for football took root during his high school years, where he became a four-star recruit and was regarded as the nation’s top dual-threat quarterback.

Taylor attended Virginia Tech University and played for the Hokies from 2007 to 2010. In his junior year, he led the team to a win in the 2009 Chick-fil-A Bowl, followed by an ACC Championship victory in his senior year, earning the ACC Player of the Year Award.

After his successful collegiate career, Tyrod Taylor entered the NFL Draft and was chosen as the 180th overall pick by the Baltimore Ravens in 2011. For the first four years of his career, Taylor served as a backup for Joe Flacco, helping the Ravens win Super Bowl XLVII in 2013.

Taylor’s opportunity to demonstrate his abilities as a starting quarterback came in 2015 when he signed with the Buffalo Bills. In his debut season with the Bills, Taylor threw for over 3,000 yards, earning a Pro Bowl selection. Taylor became the starting quarterback in 2020 following Rivers’ departure, but his position was again overthrown due to an unfortunate accident involving a medical error from a team physician, which resulted in a collapsed lung.
