Tyler Allgeier is an American professional football player currently playing as a running back for the National Football League’s (NFL) Washington Redskins. He was born in Mason City, Iowa on July 28, 1988 and attended high school at Mason City High School. During his high school career he became a four-year varsity letterman and was named first team all conference three times. After graduating from high school Tyler attended the University of Wisconsin where he played college football for the Badgers.

During his college career with Wisconsin Tyler rushed for 2,941 yards and 17 touchdowns over four years. His best season came during his senior year when he rushed for 1,112 yards and eight touchdowns to help lead them to a Big Ten championship appearance in 2011. At the end of his collegiate career Tyler led all active NCAA Division I players with 463 carries without ever fumbling the ball once.

After finishing college Tyler declared himself eligible for the 2012 NFL Draft where he was selected in the fourth round by Washington Redskins as part of their draft class that included Robert Griffin III, Alfred Morris, Kirk Cousins, Jordan Reed and Pierre Garcon which would become known as one of greatest classes ever assembled by any NFL team. Upon being drafted into NFL Tyler had great expectations placed upon him due to impressive play while attending Wisconsin but unfortunately injuries have been a consistent theme throughout most of his first few seasons in league which has prevented him from achieving true stardom thus far.

Despite these setbacks however Tyler still remains an important piece on offense lineup due to leadership qualities that have become apparent since joining team alongside experienced veterans such as Santana Moss who helped mentor younger generation players like himself while trying adjust life style changes that come along being professional athlete in world biggest sports league so quickly after completing amateur level last year before signing contract Washington organization summer 2012 . With experience knowledge gained past few years combined natural talent need little bit luck order truly breakout out next season future looks promising young running back .
