Tanner Ingle's Biography

Tanner Ingle was born on October 29, 1999, in Orlando, Florida, where he would begin his journey towards becoming a professional football safety. As a quintessential American footballer, currently playing for the Los Angeles Rams, a franchise of the National Football League (NFL), his life personifies perseverance, determination, and talent.

Ingle had humble football beginnings in his hometown, Orlando, scaling through the ranks of Dr. Phillips High School. He made a significant impact on the gridiron early on in his high school career, recording nine interceptions and obtaining nine touchdowns. He emerged as a leader amongst his peers, assuming the role of team captain and honorably receiving the prestigious title of first-team all-state. This recognition and his ferocious performance on the field attracted college scouts and he committed to playing college football at NC State, a five-year endeavor that would shape his football journey.

Entering college, Ingle quickly became a dominant player known for his defensive aptitude. Over his five-year career with the NC State Wolfpack, he successfully accumulated 311 tackles, of which 23 were detrimental enough to cause a loss for the opposing team. He also exhibited great skill in intercepting passes, with a total of 3 interceptions. Further, he showcased his defensive tenacity with 13 pass deflections and 3 forced fumbles.

His most memorable year was the 2021 season, where his formidable performance included 82 tackles, with 3.5 of those leading to a loss for the opposing team, an interception, and 4 pass deflections. For his remarkable performance, he was awarded First-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). Following that year, a fantastic senior year ensued in 2022 where he posted 83 tackles, 8 of which went for a loss, 2 interceptions, and 2 pass deflections. This stellar performance landed him a position in the second team All-ACC.

One of Ingle’s career highlights occurred on November 25, 2022, when he made an exceptional interception that contributed significantly to the Wolfpack’s triumphant over their arch-rival, North Carolina. His college career not only shaped him as a player but also garnered him the skills and mindset necessary to compete at the professional level.

Despite showcasing prolific performances in college football, Ingle went undrafted in the 2023 NFL draft. However, remaining unbowed and unwavered, Ingle signed with the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent. His journey at the Rams began with hurdles, as he was waived on August 29, 2023, but was subsequently re-signed to the practice squad. His tenacity paid off on January 15, 2024, when he signed a reserve/future contract. The following year, history repeated itself as Ingle was waived by the Rams but promptly re-signed to the practice squad.

Throughout his professional and personal life, Ingle has always been grateful for the unwavering support from his wife, Emma Ingle, who he shares a deep love for and is also a proud alumna of NC State. The couple’s journey turned even more beautiful with the arrival of their daughter, Georgia Renee Ingle, in January 2024.
