Tre Tomlinson

Born on January 10, 2000, Tre’Vius Hodges-Tomlinson is a professional American football cornerback known for his skillful work on the field, currently playing for the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League (NFL). Recognized for his watchful defense and quick tackles, Tomlinson has made a successful journey from a college player to a deserving NFL athlete, collecting several accolades on the way.

Growing up in Waco, Texas, Tomlinson attended Midway High School where he caught his first touches with football, igniting a passion that would stay with him. Following high school, Tomlinson made a decision that would set his career path into motion – he committed to playing college football at Texas Christian University (TCU).

Marking his college years with exceptional performance, Tre’Vius kicked off his freshman year in 2019 with impressive plays, taking the field in twelve matches and delivering eight tackles. His talent and dedication were soon recognized by the coaching staff, and he became a starter the following season. During the entirety of the 2020 season, Tomlinson stood strong in all ten games, recording twenty-six tackles.

The succeeding season, in 2021, he made further advances in his journey in the form of forty-one tackles, two interceptions, and a touchdown, proving that he was no ordinary player; he was a rising star. Tre’Vius ‘s senior year in 2022 was another milestone where he was awarded the prestigious Jim Thorpe Award for his magnificent exploits on the field.

In the 2023 NFL draft, the Los Angeles Rams noticed this rising talent and selected him in the sixth round, 182nd overall, to wear their jersey. Thus, Tomlinson, a player who started his journey in TCU, found himself drafted in the major leagues.

Unfortunately, the road to success is often studded with adversities. The year 2024 turned out to be challenging for Tomlinson; a serious injury saw him placed on the season-ending injured reserve on August 27, 2024.

Despite the setbacks, Tomlinson’s spirit remained undaunted and his unshakeable determination has kept him sturdy in the face of adversity. Tomlinson carries a significant lineage of football as he is the proud nephew of Hall of Fame NFL running back LaDainian Tomlinson.
