Tank Bigsby

Cartavious “Tank” Bigsby, an American professional football running back known as “Tank”, was born on August 30, 2001, and currently plies his trade with one of the prestigious National Football League (NFL) teams, the Jacksonville Jaguars. His journey from a small town in Georgia to the glamorous platforms of the NFL demonstrates his passion, grit, and determination to excel in the sport.

Raised in the heart of Hogansville, Georgia, Bigsby exhibited his knack for football from an early age. He enrolled at Callaway High School, where he began building his reputation as a formidable running back. Notably, during his last year at high school, he rushed for an impressive 1,636 yards, marking 27 touchdowns. As a junior, he delivered an equally phenomenal performance, covering a distance of 2,221 yards with 22 touchdowns.

His outstanding prowess on the field did not go unnoticed. He was heavily sought after and eventually committed to Auburn University to play college football. His football talents had already started to attract national attention, as he was rated a four-star prospect. He was revered in the Georgia state as a significant promise in the football arena, with 247 Sports ranking him as the 7th overall recruit.

During his freshman year in 2020, Bigsby was given an opportunity to start as Auburn University’s running back. He proved himself as a valuable asset to the team with his sterling performance that year. Notably, his match against Georgia was a game to remember. Tank powered through the field with unwavering energy, covering a distance of 146 yards with just 20 carries. It was during this season that he achieved his career’s first 100-yard game. Bigsby’s performance throughout the season was remarkable; averaging 6.0 yards per carry, he totaled 834 yards. Recognizing his brilliant rookie year, he was honorably named the SEC Newcomer/Freshman of the Year.

In 2021, Bigsby delivered another sterling season, achieving a career-high total of 1,099 rush yards and matching it with ten touchdowns. The following year, he continued his impressive streak, clocking 970 rushing yards along with ten rushing touchdowns from 179 carries.

His performances at Auburn University had caught the eye of NFL scouts, and as a result, Bigsby was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the third round, 88th overall, of the 2023 NFL draft. The running back’s maiden season at the top echelons of American football was met with reasonable success. He made an indelible mark in his debut match in Week 1, scoring his first NFL touchdown with a one-yard carry, contributing significantly to the Jaguars’ 31-21 victory over the Indianapolis Colts.

By the end of the 2023 season, he had participated in all 17 games of his first season as a professional. He concluded the season by amassing 132 yards and two touchdowns from 50 carries, thus signifying his status as a crucial offensive player in the team.
