Renell Wren's Biography

Renell Wren, born on October 23rd, 1995, is a highly skilled American football nose tackle. Despite currently being a free agent, Wren has made a significant impact in the world of American football, emanating from his college days at Arizona State to his professional career in the National Football League (NFL).

In the early years of his career, Renell Wren was a standout performer at Arizona State, which catapulted him onto the national stage. His clear talent, rigour, and skill in the game did not go unnoticed by professional national teams. In 2019, he was drafted into the NFL by the Cincinnati Bengals, an achievement that came as a result of his exceptional skills demonstrated while playing at college level.

Drafted in the fourth round as the 125th overall, Renell was set to make his mark in the prestigious 2019 NFL draft. He got his chances quickly, featuring in 11 matches in his debut season, out of which he started two. Nevertheless, misfortune struck towards the end of his debut year when he suffered an injury that placed him on an injury reserve list on December 14, 2019 signifying an unfortunately premature end for the fresher to his first season.

In 2020, Wren faced more hard times. At the onset of the training camp on August 3, 2020, Renell was placed on the active/non-football injury list. Nevertheless, he demonstrated a high level of resilience, bouncing back to earn a spot on the active roster within ten days, on August 13, 2020. Unfortunately, this did not last long, as Wren suffered a quadriceps injury later that month which eventually landed him back on the injured reserve list on August 23, 2020.

With continuous unfortunate events, Wren was waived by the Bengals on August 31, 2021. However, his potentials could not easily be overlooked, as he was re-signed to the practice squad a day later, allowing him to remain in the NFL environment.

February 25, 2022 saw a significant turn in Wren’s career. He signed a new contract with the Philadelphia Eagles, promising some fresh perspectives and opportunities. However, his time with the Eagles was short-lived, as he was released from the team on August 30 the same year. Never one to stay off the field for too long, Wren soon found a new home with the Pittsburgh Steelers, signing onto their practice squad on September 2, 2022.

His dynamic skills and prospects for the future of the squad led to him signing a reserve/future contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers on January 12, 2023. Unfortunately, while things were seemingly looking up, Wren was once again placed on injured reserve on May 16, 2023, an event that has seemingly become all too common in the course of his career.
