Tre Norwood Bio
Tre Norwood is an American football player born on the 19th of April, 1999. He currently plays the position of a safety for the Birmingham Stallions, a team that competes in the United Football League (UFL). Norwood’s journey in the field of competitive football is an exciting and inspiring one, taking him from collegiate games at Oklahoma to the prestigious National Football League (NFL), and finally, to the UFL.
Norwood’s football journey started from a young age. A promising player in his teens, he was eager to test his mettle in collegiate football. Against this backdrop, in July 2016, Norwood made a significant decision – he committed to play college football for Louisville. His stint at Louisville, however, didn’t play out as expected. In January 2017, Norwood made a surprising move by de-committing from Louisville.
Despite this setback, his passion for the game remained undeterred. In search of new opportunities, Norwood found himself at Oklahoma University, home to the Sooners. From 2017 to 2020, Norwood plied his trade at Oklahoma, honing his skills and developing the vital versatility that has since become a hallmark of his game.
His hard work and talent didn’t go unnoticed. In the year 2021, he fulfilled every college football player’s dream – stepping up to the National Football League. Norwood was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the seventh round, taking the 245th pick overall in the 2021 NFL draft.
Soon after being drafted, the talented young footballer made it official, signing his four-year rookie contract with Pittsburgh on May 15, 2021. However, his journey with the Steelers had its ups and downs. With the competition getting tougher and spots getting harder to secure, Norwood was waived by the Steelers on August 29, 2023.
Eager to get back in the game, on September 27, 2023, Norwood landed on the practice squad of the San Francisco 49ers. This stint, however, was short-lived, as he was released on October 24. Barely a fortnight later, on November 7, 2023, Norwood was signed by the Buffalo Bills to their practice squad. At the end of the year, though, he was released on December 30.
Undaunted by these setbacks, Tre Norwood never lost sight of his passion for football. He was back on the field on August 16, 2024, this time, signing with the Birmingham Stallions of the United Football League (UFL).
The steadfastness and resilience shown by Norwood throughout his football career are inspiring and serve as a testimony to his unyielding passion for the game. Through all the rejections and changes, Norwood never lost his love for football, proving his mettle every step of the way, from the university fields to the high-stake arenas of the NFL, and now the UFL.
