Rachad Wildgoose

Rachad Wildgoose II, born on June 20, 2000, is a highly accomplished American professional football cornerback currently playing for the Birmingham Stallions. He has had a diverse career that has spanned across the National Football League (NFL) and the United Football League (UFL). Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Rachad’s relentless pursuit of growth, excellence, and achievement in football has been evident since his high school days, with this biography detailing his journey as a dynamic athlete.

Rachad initially attended Northwestern High School, where he began showcasing his skills and passion for football. In April 2017, the talented player committed to playing college football for Rutgers but de-committed the following month. He then decided for Georgia in the following month, yet his unwavering ambition led him to reconsider. In 2018, he resolved to head for the University of Wisconsin–Madison, aligning his passion for football with his desire for education.

While at Wisconsin, Rachad played for the Wisconsin Badgers, earning honor and recognition for his performance. His rookie year in 2018 saw him participating in no less than ten games, amassing 29 tackles, proving his worth to the team and showcasing his potential. His performance escalated in his sophomore year, when he not only participated in all 13 games but also achieved 22 tackles along with an interception. His following season, however, was marred by injury after he got injured in a game against Northwestern, preventing him from finishing the rest of the season.

Despite the setback, Wildgoose’s talent didn’t go unnoticed in the NFL. In the 2021 NFL draft, he was picked in the sixth round (213th pick) by the Buffalo Bills. On May 13, 2021, he inked his four-year rookie contract with Buffalo. However, after being waived on August 31, 2021, and joining the practice squad, things changed in November when he was drafted into the New York Jets’ active roster. Wildgoose shone in his rookie season with the Jets, playing in five games and completing three total tackles before being released the next season on August 30, 2022.

The Washington Commanders quickly claimed him off waivers on August 31, 2022. Here he continued his professional journey, appearing in 15 games, three as a starter, in the 2022 season. He claimed 16 total tackles and defended three passes. In 2023, Rachad signed a one-year contract extension, but unfortunately, he again found himself waived later that year.

Rachad’s never-give-up attitude brought him to the Detroit Lions’ doorstep on August 21, 2024. Despite being waived a week later, his resilience led him to the UFL where he signed with the Birmingham Stallions on September 19, 2024.
