Saiid Paulson Adebo, known to his fans as Paulson Adebo, has built a reputable standing in the world of professional football through dedication, hard work, and talent. Born on July 3, 1999, the cornerback carved out an impressive career, beginning in high school and with his current position for the New Orleans Saints in the National Football League (NFL).

Raised in Mansfield, Texas, Adebo’s interest in football was evident from a young age. At Mansfield High School, his prowess on the field was already evident as he played as a defensive back and wide receiver. Having originally committed to play for the University of Notre Dame, he changed course, choosing Stanford University instead.

His football career officially took off at Stanford. In his freshman year in 2017, he didn’t appear in any games. However, he quickly made up for the lost time, appearing in 13 games with 12 starts in 2018. Remarkably, he finished this season having made 64 tackles and four interceptions. His impressive performance ensured that he returned in 2019 as a starter. His junior season was equally fruitful, finishing with 33 tackles, 10 pass breakups, and 4 interceptions. Despite being listed as the number two draft-eligible cornerback by Mel Kiper during this time, Adebo announced that he would return to Stanford for his senior year, delaying his entry into the NFL draft.

In the 2021 NFL draft, Adebo was finally picked up in the third round and drafted 76th overall by the New Orleans Saints. The Saints definitely saw a promising talent who could contribute to the team’s success. His commitment to the Saints was marked by the signing of his four-year rookie contract in June of that year.

As he joined Saints for training, Adebo seized the opportunity, becoming a starting cornerback alongside Marshon Lattimore. He performed exceptionally well in the Saints’ 38-3 Week 1 victory against the Green Bay Packers where he made his regular-season debut. Alongside a successful debut, he also managed to record two solo tackles, a pass defensed, and his first-ever career interception. Moving forward, he proved his worth in subsequent matches against teams like the Washington Football Team, New York Jets, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, among others. This marked an impressive start to his career with the Saints, boasting a total of 66 solo tackles, three interceptions, and eight passes defensed in his rookie year.

By the 2022 season, Adebo’s talent was crystal clear. Contributing a total of 60 tackles and seven passes defended in 13 games, he further proved himself an asset to the Saints. His performance in Week 9 of the 2023 season truly stood out, where he executed seven tackles, three pass breakups, two interceptions, and a forced fumble and recovery against the Chicago Bears. This exceptional display of skill earned him the National Football Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

However, adversity struck in 2024 when, in week 7 against the Denver Broncos, Adebo suffered a broken femur. Following a surgery, he was ruled out for the remainder of the season.

In spite of the challenges, the young cornerback has shown exceptional grit, determination, and a natural talent for the game.
