Patrick Ricard's Biography

Patrick Ricard is an acclaimed tight end/fullback and defensive lineman for the National Football League (NFL), showcasing an impressive display of talent and versatility. He currently plays for the Baltimore Ravens, a testament to his resolute determination, tactical prowess, and formidable strength on the football field.

Born on May 27, 1994, in Spencer, Massachusetts, Ricard was raised in a family that shared his passion for football. He attended David Prouty High School where he excelled in football and basketball. Ricard set records in his high school, with 90 tackles, 15 sacks, and was named Central Massachusetts Conference Player of the Year in 2011 as a senior.

Upon his high school graduation, Ricard enrolled at the University of Maine where he played college football for the Black Bears. He played as a defensive lineman and was named to First Team All-Colonial Athletic Association in 2016. Played 44 games with 42 starts in four years, accumulating 208 tackles (47.5 for losses), 18 sacks, and 12 pass break-ups.

In the 2017 NFL Draft, Ricard was not selected. Ricard’s future, however, took a promising turn after the Baltimore Ravens signed him as a free agent, capitalizing on the overlooked potential in this talented player. Ricard debuted in his professional career on September 10, 2017, against the Cincinnati Bengals, impressively recording a sack within the first game.

Despite this setback, Ricard bounced back stronger than ever both on the field and in his personal life. He learned from his mistakes and used the experience to grow both personally and professionally.

He truly came into prominence in the 2019 season. He showed his offensive prowess and versatility that season by catching 8 passes for 47 yards and a touchdown while also being a regular contributor on defense. His impressive performance led to his selection in Pro Bowl in 2019 and also in 2020 and seen as a key asset to the Ravens’ unique rushing attack.

Beyond his impressive career, Ricard is also an active participant in several charity events, responding with heartwarming expressions of generosity when called upon. Notably, he has been involved in local food drives, charity golf tournaments and the Ravens’ annual Holiday Helper event.

In January 2021, Ricard signed a two-year contract extension with the Ravens, cementing his presence in the team and reflecting the immense trust and confidence placed in him.
