Maximilian Pircher, born September 7, 1999, is an Italian professional American footballer specializing in the offensive tackle position. As of now, he holds the status of a free agent. His fledgling career sprouted in 2019 within the Austrian Football League, suiting up for the Swarco Raiders Tirol. 2021 marked a significant shift in Pircher’s career when he inked a deal as an undrafted free agent with the renowned Los Angeles Rams.

Pircher’s first on-field experience was gained in Germany, where he played for the Hildesheim Invaders club, developing his skills and mastering the nuances of the game. However, his professional debut, which etched his name in the realm of professional American football, was marked by his engagement with the Swarco Raiders Tirol in the Austrian Football League in 2019. He primarily played as a right tackle, which eventually led him towards significant victories. These victorious include the coveted 2019 Central European Football League (CEFL) and 2019 Austrian Bowl (AFL) championships, adding two resounding victories to the Raiders’ trophy cabinet.

May 2021 saw a pivotal turn in Pircher’s life when he was approached by the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams signed Pircher as part of the NFL’s International Player Pathway Program, making him the second player from the Tirol Raiders to have garnered the golden opportunity to join the NFL via this program, following the footsteps of Sandro Platzgummer. This stint with the Rams saw Pircher as a part of the practice squad, contributing to its performances for two seasons. This squad witnessed the thrill of victory in the Super Bowl LVI, bestowing upon Pircher the honorable title of a Super Bowl champion.

Furthering his journey, Maximilian Pircher was signed in by the Detroit Lions as part of the 2023 International Player Pathway Program on May 29, 2023. However, in a turn of events, he was released during the final roster cuts on August 29 but was quickly re-signed to the practice squad the following day. Unfortunately, Pircher did not secure a spot in the reserve or future contract after the season, leading to his term as a free agent upon expiration of his practice squad contract.

In another twist of fate, April 9, 2024, saw Pircher being signed in by the Seattle Seahawks. Though he was waived off on August 27 and relegated to the practice squad, his stint with the Seahawks ended up being cut short, as he was released a few days later.
