Mason Kinsey's Biography

Mason Shane Kinsey, an American professional football wide receiver, was born on August 29, 1998. He is famously linked with the Tennessee Titans, a team in the National Football League (NFL). His football career burgeoned in college, where he attended and starred in Berry College’s Division III football team.

Kinsey’s illustrious athletics career began at Berry College, where, over four exciting seasons, he made an impressive 203 receptions spanning 3,343 yards and a remarkable 50 touchdowns. These impressive statistics were critical in propelling the Vikings, his college team, to win four consecutive Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Championships. The team also secured three straight bids to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III playoffs, largely attributed to Kinsey’s outstanding performance.

Recognition for his spectacular performance wasn’t far behind. He was a three-time All-SAA first-team honoree. Notably, during his senior year, he was a third-team D3football.com All-American, a significant honor reflecting his talent and hard work.

After college, Kinsey remained undrafted till April 25, 2020, when he got his big break. The Tennessee Titans opened their doors and signed him as a free agent, just after the conclusion of the 2020 NFL draft. He however experienced a temporary setback on September 5, 2020, when he was waived during the final roster cuts.

But every cloud has a silver lining. On September 8, 2020, the New England Patriots saw potential in Kinsey and signed him to their practice squad. He was released subsequently on October 1, 2020, only to be re-signed on October 19. A few weeks later, on November 18, he was released for the second time.

Kinsey’s journey with the Titans was far from over. The Titans signed him on a reserve/futures contract on January 21, 2021. Though cut at the preseason’s end on August 31, 2021, he was re-signed to the practice squad the next day. By October 24, 2021, Kinsey was elevated to the Titans’ active roster. Following the Titans’ divisional round elimination from the 2021 playoffs, Kinsey managed to secure a reserve/future contract on January 24, 2022.

Continuing his stint with the Titans, Kinsey faced another setback on August 30, 2022, when he was waived and tightrope-walked back to the practice squad the following day. Nonetheless, On October 21, 2022, he was once again promoted to the active roster. On January 10, 2023, he signed a reserve/future contract.

Shortly after his birthday on August 29, 2023, Kinsey found himself being waived by the Titans again. Nonetheless, he was quickly re-signed to the practice squad. On September 22, Kinsey earned another promotion to the active roster. However, he was waived on October 2 and re-signed to the practice squad. Kinsey secured another promotion back to the active roster on December 16.

The subsequent year, 2024, Kinsey faced another round of waiver by the Titans on August 27. However, he swiftly re-signed to the practice squad again. Amid the oscillation between the active roster and practice squad, Kinsey has managed to stay in the game, determined and focused. His story is a showcase of resilience and endurance in professional sports.
