Alontae Devaun Taylor is an NFL cornerback for the Tennessee Titans as of September 13, 2026. The Titans signed Taylor as an unrestricted free agent on March 12, 2026, after he spent his first four professional seasons with the New Orleans Saints. He wears No. 24 and is listed at 6 feet 1 inch and 199 pounds. Taylor was born on December 3, 1998, in Winchester, Tennessee, and attended Coffee County Central High School in Manchester.
Taylor attended the University of Tennessee from 2018 through 2021. He began college as a wide receiver before moving to defensive back during his first fall camp, eventually becoming a starting cornerback. Tennessee recognized him as a defensive leader, and he earned an invitation to the 2022 Reese’s Senior Bowl and the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine. The New Orleans Saints selected him 49th overall in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
Taylor has experience both outside and in the slot. Tennessee described him as a competitive, athletic cornerback, while NFL draft analysis highlighted his length, speed and ability to play press coverage and read the quarterback. During his Saints tenure, he developed into a versatile defensive back who could move between boundary corner and nickel responsibilities. His transition from high-school quarterback to college defensive back remains a defining part of his football development.
