L’Jarius Sneed, a key figure in the National Football League (NFL), was born on January 21, 1997, rendering him an American professional football cornerback. Having changed teams, he currently represents the Tennessee Titans, previously having an illustrious career with the Kansas City Chiefs. Sneed’s professional football journey began in college, where he excelled on the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs team.

Sneed, before becoming an outstanding cornerback, garnered recognition as a wide receiver while attending Minden High School. His promising talents and undying passion for football led him to commit to Louisiana Tech on February 3, 2016. Demonstrating adaptability and flexibility, Sneed transitioned to a cornerback position at Louisiana Tech, a decision that proved highly beneficial for his burgeoning football career.

Sneed wasted no time in showcasing his penchant for the cornerback position. His freshman year at Louisiana Tech marked the beginning of his impressive football career, which stood out with an interception return touchdown against Western Kentucky at the Conference USA Championship Game. Continuing his ascendancy, he started about half of the games his sophomore year playing as a corner before earning a permanent starter position in his junior year. He later switched to a free safety position in his senior year and earned a title as the second-team all-C-USA after the season. Sneed’s remarkable performance in college earned him a spot in the 2020 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl.

His college performance did not go unnoticed; the Kansas City Chiefs picked him in the fourth round in the 2020 NFL draft as the 138th overall pick. The Chiefs then moved him back to playing the cornerback position during his rookie training camp. His career took a significant leap during his professional debut against the Houston Texans in Week 1, where he recorded his first career interception helping the Chiefs achieve a 34-20 victory. However, his progress faced a minor setback when he broke his collarbone in a match against the Baltimore Ravens in week 3, causing him to be placed on injured reserve in September. He made a strong comeback in late November, and in Week 15, Sneed recorded his first professional sack in a match against the New Orleans Saints. His noteworthy performance led him to be named in the PFWA All-Rookie Team.

Sneed’s ascension in the NFL was unstoppable, recording sacks in the Divisional Round of the playoffs against the Cleveland Browns and the AFC Championship against the Buffalo Bills. He achieved his first Super Bowl win in 2022 when the Chiefs triumphed over the Philadelphia Eagles. Displaying an outstanding performance, Sneed recorded seven tackles and two defended passes in Super Bowl LVII.

In 2023, the decisive AFC Championship against the Ravens saw Sneed at his best, successfully punching out the football on a Zay Flowers reception, preventing a crucial touchdown. His epic play rendered him a key figure in sending the Kansas City team to Super Bowl LVIII. Celebrating his second Super Bowl Championship, the Chiefs defeated the 49ers in the Super Bowl, with Sneed recording three total tackles and a defended pass.

The Kansas City Chiefs recognized Sneed’s value and placed the franchise tag on him on March 4, 2024. However, the end of March brought a significant change in Sneed’s career when he was traded to the Tennessee Titans in exchange for a 2025 third-round pick and a seventh-round picks swap. Subsequently, he signed a rewarding four-year contract worth $76.4 million with the Titans, marking the beginning of another chapter in his thriving career.
