Born on February 28, 1999, Lance McCutcheon is an esteemed figure in the American professional football industry. McCutcheon, currently a free agent, is most recognized for his formidable role as a football wide receiver, demonstrating an impressive dedication and skill throughout his career.

McCutcheon was raised in Bozeman, Montana, where his passion for football was fostered at a young age and continued to grow throughout high school at Bozeman High. As a senior, McCutcheon showed promising talent as he caught 40 passes running a total of 780 yards and achieving 12 offensive touchdowns. In addition to his prowess on the offensive side, McCutcheon also shone on defense as a cornerback, successfully intercepting 10 passes.

Following his high school career, McCutcheon pursued his passion for football at Montana State University. Over four impressive seasons with the Montana State Bobcats, he showcased his evolving abilities as a wide receiver. His junior season involved catching 13 passes for 197 yards and scoring two touchdowns.

In his senior season at Montana State, McCutcheon made a significant leap. He caught an exceptional 61 passes, covered a total of 1,219 yards, and scored nine touchdowns, earning him a well-deserved spot in the first-team All-Big Sky Conference.

In May 2022, McCutcheon’s professional career gained momentum when he signed as an undrafted free agent with the Los Angeles Rams. Despite being waived by the team within two weeks of his arrival, McCutcheon was re-signed after just two days. He persevered through training camp and emerged successful to become part of the Ram’s initial 53-man roster.

However, in August 2023, McCutcheon was again waived by the Rams during the final roster cuts. Undeterred by these setbacks, McCutcheon remained focused on his football journey, demonstrating his resilience and dedication. Later in the same month, he was signed to the Houston Texans practice squad, before being released on October 10.

Within two weeks, McCutcheon was back on the field, having been signed to the New York Jets practice squad. He remained with the Jets, who recognized his potential and signed him to a reserve/future contract on January 8, 2024.

However, in August 2024, he faced another setback when he was waived by the Jets. Resigned to the practice squad for a short period of time, he was released two days later.
