Kaleb Ethan McGary, known to many as an exceptional player in the National Football League (NFL), was born on February 22, 1995. His professional football journey has seen him play the position of offensive tackle for the Atlanta Falcons where he has made significant impacts over the years.

McGary’s early education began at Battle Ground High School in Battle Ground, Washington where he was enrolled as a freshman. However, he later transferred to spend the rest of his high school education at Fife High School nestled within the same state. His acute interest in football emerged significantly during these early years, where he touched multiple positions such as offensive line, tight end, and defensive line. McGary’s unyielding passion and dedication to the sport led him to commit to the University of Washington to further his football career at the collegiate level.

Debuting in 2014, McGary’s college football career spanned five rewarding years at Washington, ending in 2018. Over the course of 53 games that McGary played during his career at the University, he remarkably started in 47 of these games. His efforts did not go unnoticed. In his senior year, he was honored with the prestigious Morris Trophy, solidifying his name among collegiate football greats.

The year 2019 ushered in a new turning point in McGary’s career as he was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the first round of the NFL draft. This was no ordinary draft, as the Falcons exchanged their second-round position with the Los Angeles Rams to secure the esteemed 31st pick used to bring McGary onboard. His NFL journey started with a bang; in the first week against the Minnesota Vikings, after splitting reps with Ty Sambrailo at right tackle, McGary was named the Falcons’ starting right tackle. So commendable was McGary’s debut season that he started in all 16 games that season.

The year 2020 saw McGary start in 13 out of the 16 games for the Falcons. His performance that year was briefly interrupted by an injury in the second week against Dallas, which saw him withdraw from the game and sit out the subsequent match. However, by the fourth week, he was back in the starting lineup, playing against the Green Bay Packers. Sadly, McGary was unavailable during the Falcons’ 14th-week loss to the Los Angeles Chargers due to attending to a family matter which caused him to miss five consecutive practices.

In May 2022, following the completion of his initial contract with the Falcons, the franchise declined to pick up the fifth-year option on McGary’s contract. As a result, he was placed in the pool of unrestricted free agents at the end of the season. Nevertheless, the following year, on March 31, 2023, McGary’s season of waiting ended when the Falcons re-signed him on a three-year contract extension stipulated at an impressive $34.5 million.
