Jordan Roos's Biography

Jordan A. Roos is an accomplished American football guard, best known for his tenure with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent. Born on July 6, 1993, the versatile and unyielding athlete has spent his professional career navigating the competitive surrounds of the National Football League (NFL) and is currently a free agent.

Roos hails from Celina, Texas, where he attended Celina High School and first showcased his skills on the football field. Fueled by a deep-rooted passion for the game, he decided to pursue it further when he got the opportunity to play college football at Purdue. During his time with the Purdue Boilermakers from 2012 to 2016, Roos became a standout player, starting 42 games at right guard and making key contributions to several victories. His final three and a half years with the team were especially noteworthy as he led the Boilermakers to nine triumphant wins while playing in a total of 47 games.

Despite not being drafted in the 2017 NFL draft, Roos’ skills were quickly recognized by the Seattle Seahawks, who signed him as an undrafted free agent on April 29, 2017. Roos’ resilience and dogged determination saw him play out all four of the Seahawks’ preseason games, impressing the team sufficiently to secure an important place in their regular season 53-man roster.

In September 2018, Roos was momentarily waived by the Seahawks, but they promptly brought him back to their practice squad. He moreover signed a reserve/future contract in January 2019, an indication of the team’s faith in his abilities. Despite being waived again in August 2019, within a month, Roos was back with the Seahawks, this time on their active roster.

Unfortunately, the athlete’s tenure with the Seahawks was cut short when they released him in July 2020. A day later, however, the Las Vegas Raiders claimed Roos off waivers, offering him another opportunity to demonstrate his prowess. The alliance with the Raiders was short-lived, as they waived him in September the same year.

Roos’ next stint came with the New England Patriots, who signed him to their practice squad in October 2020, only to release him later that month. Swiftly recovering from the setback, Roos signed with the Tennessee Titans in August 2021. Despite being waived shortly after, he rejoined the practice squad and subsequently signed a reserve/future contract in January 2022, following the Titans’ elimination from the divisional round of the playoffs.

Advancing into 2022, Roos faced yet another hurdle when he was waived by the Titans at the end of August, only to be signed again to their practice squad. By October 2022, the resilient Roos had returned to the active roster, aiding the team tirelessly until his provisional release in December. Promptly rejoining the practice squad, Roos returned to the active roster within a week, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to the sport.

Further course-altering releases and re-signings followed in the 2023 season. Roos was waived and then re-signed to the practice squad in late August, before experiencing yet another release in September. A re-signing to the practice squad materialized in December, but Roos’ contract was not extended at the end of the season.

Characterized by persistent obstacles as much as rewarding opportunities, Jordan A. Roos’ exuberant football journey to date bears the hallmark of his impressive talent and relentless tenacity. As of now, with his contract expired, Roos finds himself a free agent, eager for the call of the next big opportunity to take to the field again.
