Jared Goff

Jared Thomas Goff is an American professional football player who currently plays for the Los Angeles Rams in the National Football League. He was born on October 14, 1994, in Novato, California to Jerry and Nancy Goff. Growing up he played a variety of sports including soccer and basketball until finally settling on football at age 12 after being inspired by his father’s alma mater, The University of California, Berkeley. Jared attended Marin Catholic High School where he would become one of the most highly recruited quarterbacks in the nation.

Goff committed to attending Cal when offered a scholarship from head coach Jeff Tedford who saw potential in Jared’s abilities as a quarterback. His freshman year began with much hype surrounding him as many were impressed with his natural arm strength and quick decision-making skills which made it easy for him to pick apart opposing defenses. In his first season he set Cal records for most passing yards (3,508) and touchdowns thrown (18) while also leading them to their first bowl game win since 2008 against Air Force 45–21 during the 2013 Armed Forces Bowl.

During his sophomore season at Cal Goff continued breaking records setting new highs in completion percentage (64%) along with total passing yards (3,973).
