Jake Bobo

Born on the 4th of August in 1998, Jackson Bobo has established himself as a force to be reckoned with in the competitive world of professional American football. He currently plays as a wide receiver for one of the powerhouses of the National Football League (NFL), the Seattle Seahawks. Jackson’s career traces back to his days in college, where he began by playing for the Duke Blue Devils before making a significant transition to the UCLA Bruins.

Jackson spent his early years in the city of Concord, Massachusetts. His interest in the sport bloomed from a young age, and he further honed his raw talent while attending the Belmont Hill School. Here, his exceptional potential was evident, flashing his ability as a football player by catching an impressive 34 passes that accumulated a total of 514 yards and five touchdowns in his senior year.

Recognized as a three-star recruit due to his remarkable performances, Jackson attracted numerous offers from reputed colleges such as Wake Forest, Boston College, and Army. Despite having multiple options, Jackson made his decision to commit to Duke, beginning his illustrious journey in college football with the Blue Devils.

At Duke, Jackson continued to bowl over fans and critics by demonstrating exceptional athleticism and skill on the field. Even as a freshman, he showcased his potential by playing in all 13 of the team’s games, catching 10 passes that covered 167 yards and scoring one touchdown. Despite these bright beginnings, his sophomore season was marred by an unfortunate broken collarbone, which forced him to miss the inaugural games.

However, Jackson rebounded from his injury with utter determination, leading Duke in his junior year by catching 32 passes with a total of 358 receiving yards and one touchdown. Showing off a level of consistency that defined him as a player, he made a whopping 74 catches that amounted to 794 yards in 2021. Following this season, Jackson decided to explore his options by entering the NCAA transfer portal.

After contemplating his options, Jackson made the switch to the UCLA Bruins where his career truly seemed to gain momentum. His performance in the Bruins’ 40-32 upset victory against 15th-ranked Washington was particularly striking, where he caught six passes totaling 142 yards and two touchdowns. At the end of the season, Jackson had 57 receptions over 817 yards and scored seven touchdowns.

His break into professional football came immediately after the conclusion of the 2023 NFL draft. Under the guidance of the Seattle Seahawks, Jackson quickly made his mark. His composure and skill won over his teammates, and he was lauded by starting wide receiver DK Metcalf. Jackson’s hard work saw him gaining a coveted spot in the Seahawks’ initial 53-man roster.

Amid a spectacular training camp in 2023, Jackson’s consistent performances and playmaking abilities led to running backs coach Chad Morton coining the phrase “More Bobo”. This phrase grew in popularity among teammates, fans, and even press conferences, denoting the recognition of Jackson’s impressive contribution to the team.

Born to parents Mike and Casey Bobo, who are both graduates of Dartmouth College, Jackson’s sporting lineage traces back to his father, who played football at Dartmouth as a wide receiver assisting the Big Green to an Ivy League championship. Jackson, however, is not to be confused with Mike Bobo, the offensive coordinator for the Georgia Bulldogs.

Jackson’s expedition from college football to the NFL has been a tale of resilience and triumph. His impressive performances and sheer determination have placed him as a standout athlete, building anticipation for his future achievements in the professional football world.
