BIOGRAPHY

Jack Coco, born on October 9, 1998, has built an impressive career as an American professional football player primarily known for his long snapper skills. As of now, the versatile athlete is a free agent. In his journey to professional football, he experienced the growth and struggle of his sporting life, beginning from the high school playing fields to college football at Georgia Tech and ultimately making marks in two National Football League (NFL) franchises.

Born and raised in Johns Creek, Georgia, Coco kickstarted his football career at Johns Creek High School, which served as a crucial stepping stone towards shaping his professional sporting career. His skills and talent caught the attention of many, leading him to Georgia Tech, where he would continue his trajectory in football.

Coco’s college football journey commenced at Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. He entered the platform as a walk-on and redshirted during his real freshman season. His dedication paid off, and in his redshirt freshman and sophomore years, not only did he earn a spot as a reserve offensive lineman, but he also served as the team’s long snapper for the field goal unit. His constant evolution became evident when he transitioned into a tight end going into his redshirt junior year, during which he remarkably shed 30 pounds.

Despite the change in his position, Coco remained Georgia Tech’s long snapper for field goal attempts. In 2020, he boasted a record of four catches covering a total of 22 yards. Recognizing his potential, Georgia Tech awarded Coco a scholarship as he progressed into his final season with the team. Mainly playing as a tight end in his redshirt senior year, he made a significant contribution to the team through his sole reception that covered four yards.

Coco’s transition from college football to the NFL was an exciting chapter. The Green Bay Packers signed him as an undrafted free agent on May 17, 2022, following a successful showing on a rookie minicamp tryout basis. Not only did he make the cut, but he also outperformed the incumbent long snapper, Steven Wirtel. After Wirtel’s release on August 10, 2022, Coco found himself with the long snapper duties. His stint with the Packers, however, was short-lived, and he was released on May 8, 2023.

Despite the setback, Coco’s journey did not end there. On July 25 of the same year, the Arizona Cardinals seized on the opportunity to sign him. Unfortunately, this partnership was even shorter, ending just ten days later on August 4, 2023.

The player’s journey is undoubtedly a testament to his strength, talent, and passion for the sport. Jack Coco remains a free agent after showcasing his undeniable talent on two professional NFL teams. But his resilience and the vigor he has displayed throughout his career suggest that he is a compelling asset, one who can potentially contribute significantly to any team in need of a capable long snapper with impressive experience at tight end.
