Sean Clifford

Born on July 14, 1998, Sean Burke Clifford hails from the eminent city of Cincinnati. His illustrious football career initialized in St. Xavier High School, where he made significant contributions as a quarterback and gained recognition for his talent. Graduating from high school in 2017, Sean marked an impressive record of passing for 4,004 yards, 30 touchdowns, and an unmatched 1,100 rushing yards that concluded with 20 touchdowns. In his senior season, he led the Bombers to victory in the Division 1 State Championship.

Sean seized the opportunity to showcase his flair at the collegiate level by committing to Penn State University to play college football, where he redshirted his first year in 2017. In the following year, he served as the backup to Trace McSorley appearing in a brief four games. Yet within those limited appearances, Sean was still able to complete five out of seven passes, accumulating 195 yards with two touchdowns.

In 2019, Sean was nominated as the starting quarterback. Several awards and honors followed his selection including the All-Big Ten honorable mention by the coaches and media. His academic prowess got him recognized as the Academic All-Big Ten honoree.

Despite battling a shortened season due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Sean didn’t let the circumstances impact his performance. He hit a 60.6% completion rate, contributing to a score of 16 touchdowns and 1,883 yards. Meanwhile, he was working towards his bachelor’s degree in advertising and public relations.

Sean’s perseverance and dedication were effective both on and off the field. He started every game of the 2021 season, completing 261 passes on 429 attempts for a staggering 3,107 yards. His competence as a scholar-athlete continued to shine as he received the NFF National Scholar-Athlete Class honor.

The year 2022 was an equally successful year for Sean. He became part of college football history during the 2023 Rose Bowl when his 88-yard touchdown pass to KeAndre Lambert-Smith became the longest passing play in the Rose Bowl game history. Furthermore, the Big Ten recognized Sean’s consistent efforts, giving him the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week award twice.

Sean’s college triumphs were rewarded with his selection by the Green Bay Packers in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL draft. His NFL debut came on September 10, 2023, where he efficiently relieved Jordan Love during a win against the Chicago Bears. On December 31, 2023, Sean’s first completed NFL pass of 37-yards added to the 33–10 win against the Minnesota Vikings.

Despite a brief drawback in 2024 when he was released and re-signed to the practice squad, he swiftly returned to the active roster for weeks 2 and 3 in September 2024.

Off the field, together with Liam Clifford, Sean established a student-athlete NIL agency, Limitless NIL, contributing to the field of athlete marketing. Under their leadership, Limitless athletes signed deals amassing over $250,000 with over 50 different companies before being sold to TEAM Group Holdings Inc. in 2023.

As of present day, Sean Clifford continues to be a leading figure within the NFL, while his media presence expands across various platforms.
