J.J. Koski's Biography

J.J. Koski, an American football player, was born on December 27th, 1996. At present, he thrives as a free agent in the capacity of a wide receiver. Koski, a remarkable athlete since high school, has a rich legacy of intense footballing and sports commitment throughout his career.

In his early days, Koski was brought up in Danville, California, wherein he attended the San Ramon Valley High School. Apart from his academic pursuits, Koski was highly involved in sports activities. His primary sports were basketball and football, but he also showed an earnest interest and prowess in track. During his high school football career, his sporting skills were highlighted by his remarkable achievement of scoring 30 touchdowns and securing 2,589 yards from 161 passes.

His illustrious sports journey continued into his college life at Cal Poly. He became a part of the Cal Poly Mustangs, serving the team for five fruitful seasons. Shining brightly from the inception of his college career, Koski was redshirted as a true freshman, an honor bestowed upon exceptional players.

His sophomore season, where he was a redshirt, marked the commencement of his journey as a starter for the team. In his following term as a redshirt junior, his outstanding performance of finishing the season with 33 receptions for 666 yards and four touchdowns earned him the title of third-team All-Big Sky Conference. In his role as a redshirt senior, he continued to impress on the field, securing 868 yards from 42 passes with eight touchdowns, getting the title of first-team All-Big Sky.

Koski’s college career is illustrious with 121 receptions, 2,311 yards, and 18 touchdowns to his name. His dedication towards football was recognized by the Los Angeles Rams who signed him as an undrafted free agent on April 25, 2020. Koski, however, was waived during the final roster cuts on September 4, 2020, but got signed to the team’s practice squad just a day later.

His journey with the Rams took a new turn on January 18, 2021, when he signed a reserve/futures contract with the team. Despite being waived at the completion of training camp on August 31, 2021, he was re-signed to their active roster on November 3, 2021. He made his unforgettable NFL debut on November 7 of the same year in a match against the Tennessee Titans, where he returned one punt for seven yards in a heartbreaking 16–28 loss.

On December 7, Koski faced another brief interval of waiver by the Rams, but was soon after re-signed to the practice squad. He got back on the active roster on January 1, 2022, only to be waived again three days later. However, he remained with the team and capped off his journey with the Rams by clinching Super Bowl LVI as part of the backup players when they triumphed over the Cincinnati Bengals.

On February 15, 2022, Koski added another contract with the Rams to his professional portfolio – a reserve/future contract. His stint did not last long, however, as he was waived/injured on August 20, 2022, and subsequently placed on injured reserve.

Post his recovery, Koski experienced another change of roster. On March 10, 2023, he was waived by the Los Angeles Rams, but his football journey did not end there. August 14, 2023, marked his association with the Denver Broncos. Even though his tenure with the Broncos was short, with him being waived on August 27, Koski’s spirit and passion for football remain unscathed.
