Harold Landry III's Biography

Born on June 5, 1996, in Spring Lake, North Carolina, Harold Antonio Landry III is a proud representation of American professional football. Renowned in his career, Landryt now plays as a linebacker for the Tennessee Titans team in the National Football League (NFL). The first seeds of his future were planted in his college years at Boston College, and later blossomed when the Titans selected him in the second round of the 2018 NFL draft.

The journey from Harold to Harold Landry III started with his parents, Doreen and Harold Landry. They raised him in Pine Forest, where he had a taste of his first football games in high school, at Fayetteville, North Carolina. With every game, Landry’s proficiency increased. As a senior player in high school, he accomplished 96 tackles and 17 sacks. Clearly having fallen in love with the game, he then committed to Boston College to further his skills and passion for football.

During his college years, Landry was unfaltering in his commitment and even appeared as a true freshman for all 13 games in 2014, recording 11 tackles. Growing his skills bit by bit, he made 60 tackles and 4.5 sacks during 12 games in his sophomore year. 2016 brought exceptional achievements for him as a junior at Boston, where he led the nation and set a college record with 16.5 sacks. Despite having the ability to enter the 2017 NFL draft, Landry decided to return for his senior year at Boston College, demonstrating his desire to refine his skills for the benefit of his professional performance.

As his time at college was ending, Landry received an invitation to the Senior Bowl. However, taking into consideration his health, he chose not to participate due to an ankle injury he’d been nursing. This decision facilitated his participation in the NFL Combine on March 4, 2018.

Not long after the Combine, the NFL Draft announced that Landry, who had been identified by many as a suitable pick for teams like the Green Bay Packers, Detroit Lions and the Tennessee Titans, was drafted by the Titans in the second round. Firmly cemented in their roster, Landry signed his rookie contract on June 14, 2018. Shortly after, he debuted in the NFL in Week 2 of the 2018 season against the Houston Texans. The rest of the season saw him record his first NFL sack against the Philadelphia Eagles, leading his team to a glorious 26-23 overtime victory.

In the following seasons, Landry showcased an impressive performance streak. With every game, he marked his growth distinctly, noting significant career-high accomplishments like nine sacks in his second professional season, and later recording a career-best of 12 sacks in the 2021 season. As a cherry on top, the 2021 season saw Landry make his first career Pro Bowl appearance.

On March 8, 2022, Landry signed a five-year extension contract with the Titans worth $87.5 million, including $52.5 million guaranteed. Unfortunately, his play was curtailed due to a torn ACL suffered during practice, ending his season early. However, after recovering, Landry didn’t lose his momentum and efficiently returned to the field as a starter in the Titans’ 2023 lineup. During a momentous win over the Miami Dolphins, he recorded three sacks and five tackles, earning him the title of AFC Defensive Player of the Week.

Away from the football field, Landry enjoys a fulfilling personal life, sharing beautiful moments with his wife, Danielle, and their two sons, Greyson and Ollie. Sharing the same birthday with his son Greyson, Landry has built a legacy beyond the professional football field as a loving husband and dedicated father. Raising his sons with the same values of hard work, determination, and commitment, Landry continues to inspire on and off the field.
